About the role

The Pre-Admissions Testing (PAT) Nurse is responsible for conducting comprehensive pre-operative assessments, reviewing patient histories, coordinating required testing, and ensuring patients are prepared for scheduled surgical procedures. This role collaborates closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and surgical teams to promote patient safety and optimize surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  • Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
  • Build relationships, manage discomfort, stay professional in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
  • Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
  • Help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members with knowledge for better healthcare choices.
  • Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  • Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan.
  • Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  • Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff.
  • Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  • Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth.
  • Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment.

Qualifications

  • Grad of an Accredited RN Program
  • Specialized field of study should be nursing.
  • RN license.
  • Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
  • 2 Years of RN experience Required.
