About the role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Responsibilities
- Delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills.
- Provides urgent and emergent care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical - surgical - and psychiatric conditions.
- Nursing care ranges from basic nursing care to stabilization - resuscitation - and life-support measures.
- Affords care based on age-specific components.
- Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team to influence care outcomes.
- Manages complex client situations with self-direction.
- Respects cultural and spiritual values.
Requirements
- Basic Requirements: English Language Proficiency, Graduate of a school of professional nursing, Possession of a current - full - active - and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- Preferred Experience: BSN, 3-5 years of emergency medicine experience.
Qualifications

Skills
- Knowledge and active participation in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
