About the Role

Join our team in a Full-Time (0.9 FTE) Night Shift Registered Nurse (RN) role at PeaceHealth Springfield Rehabilitation Hospital, a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. This expansion positions us as a regional center of excellence, delivering specialized rehabilitative care to patients recovering from traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, and a range of orthopedic and cardiac conditions.

Pay

  • Competitive pay range of $50.78 - $79.78 per hour
  • Additional $9.50/hour night shift differential

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Minimum one year RN experience in an acute care facility or successful completion of a training course/orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs
  • Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards
  • Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence
  • Ensure professional effectiveness through education and professional development
  • Participate in the development of and maintain established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection prevention programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs
  • Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and a patient/family-centered work environment
  • Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy, and procedures
  • Basic computer skills

Working Conditions

  • Lifting/Patient handling: No greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH)
  • Fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures
  • Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (e.g., WOW, medical carts)
  • Perform hands-on CPR for at least 20 minutes using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA)
  • Ability to move around the area with frequent sitting
  • Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and kneeling frequently
  • Lifting (non-patient): Up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently
  • Exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment
  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted)
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
