About the Role

Join our team in a Part-Time (0.6 FTE) Night Shift RN role at PeaceHealth Springfield Rehabilitation Hospital, a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. This position offers a consistent schedule with 12-hour night shifts, providing flexibility and work-life balance while making a meaningful impact in patients' recovery journeys.

Pay

Competitive pay range of $50.78 - $79.78 per hour, with an additional $9.50/hour night shift differential.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs.
  • Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
  • Ensure professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Participate in the development of and maintain established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection prevention programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Minimum one year RN experience in an acute care facility or successful completion of a training course/orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire.
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and a patient/family-centered work environment.
  • Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy, and procedures.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • See community-specific document for each Unit/Department required credentials.

Working Conditions

  • Lifting/Patient handling: No greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
  • Fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
  • Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (e.g., WOW, medical carts).
  • Perform hands-on CPR for at least 20 minutes using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA). Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
  • Ability to move around the area with frequent sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and kneeling.
  • Lifting (non-patient): Up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
  • Environmental exposure to biohazards, body fluids, and airborne particles.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
