RN-Specialty - FT, Days

Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Assists the physician in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork. Integrates Mercy’s philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respecting human life and dignity, and applying Christian values into daily work. Maintains a caring, friendly, personal, and professional approach when communicating with patients, families, visitors, and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians in patient treatment.
  • Complete related clinical paperwork.
  • Perform a variety of medical treatments and procedures.
  • React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and policies.
  • Communicate clearly and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public.
  • Access information and enter clinical data using basic computer terminal and keyboard skills.
  • Operate equipment normally related to the specialty of the clinic.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current valid state nursing license.
  • CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of nursing principles and skills, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
  • Knowledge of medications and their effects, patient education, and principles to develop a self-care program.
  • Ability to learn basic computer terminal and keyboard skills.
