About the role

Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Assists the physician in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork. The incumbent shall integrate the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues. Communicates with patients, families, visitors and employees in a caring, friendly, personal and professional manner. Performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure: Current valid state nursing license.
• Experience: Not required.
• Certifications: CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment‑room procedures; medications and their effects; patient education; self‑care program development; common safety practices.
• Skills and abilities: Assist and perform a variety of medical treatments and procedures; react calmly and effectively in emergency situations; interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies; communicate clearly and maintain effective working relationships; basic computer terminal and keyboard skills.
• Equipment: Ability to operate equipment normally related to the specialty of the clinic.
