RTI International’s Surveillance and Survey Science Department has over 60 years of experience delivering excellence to our clients. Comprised of 275 research professionals, we collect complex behavioral, health, and attitudinal data in many settings.

Responsibilities

• Support participant-centered health data collection in mobile clinic settings using nursing judgment, study protocols, and established procedures.
• Coordinate and conduct virtual and in-person training sessions and field observations.
• Track data collection activities, response rates, and costs.
• Conduct quality reviews of data collection activities, systems, reports, and related documentation.
• Develop and review project materials, including study brochures, lead letters, training manuals, job aids, and data collection materials.
• Test questionnaires and survey systems; document and report errors.
• Support Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) packages, and other project documentation.
• Present findings to support survey research knowledge and project learning.
• Obtain informed consent and collect survey data, physical measurements, biospecimens, spirometry, and other assigned study data according to study protocols while working in the field.
• Build rapport with participants and multidisciplinary field teams to support a respectful, comfortable, and professional data collection experience.
• Travel to data collection sites across the United States for approximately 25% of the role.

Requirements

• BS/BA in nursing, public health, sociology, psychology, political science, or a related field with at least 3 years of experience in direct patient care.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (one of the 50 states or District of Columbia).
• Demonstrated interest or experience in survey research, health research, public health data collection, or related applied research activities.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort working closely with participants, colleagues, and field team members in a mobile clinic environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to follow detailed study protocols, maintain confidentiality, document work accurately, and support high-quality data collection.
• Available for approximately 25% travel to conduct field activities at sites across the United States.
• Must be able to work independently, capable of submitting multiple high-quality work products on strict, overlapping deadlines.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.

Pay

The anticipated pay range for this role is $74,000 - $91,000. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States. RTI considers multiple factors when making an offer including, for example: established salary range, internal budget, business needs, and education and years of work experience possessed by the applicant.
