About the role
The Registered Professional Nurse at Cabell Huntington Hospital's SICU is accountable for using the nursing process, delegating patient care tasks, supervising other patient care staff, coordinating the care for a group of patients, and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated.
Responsibilities
- Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Delegates patient care tasks to other patient care staff
- Supervises other patient care staff
- Carefully coordinates the care for a group of patients
- Consults with other members of the health care team when indicated
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a current RN license in West Virginia, and a minimum of 1 year of critical care experience preferred.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing is required. A current CPR certification is also required.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the ability to handle stressful situations are essential.
