RN - Shift Supervisor - Weekend

About the role

Assists the Director/Manager through supervising the day-to-day department activities. Facilitates, coordinates, and evaluates unit activities for the provision of quality patient care within the framework of the mission, vision, and values of Baptist Health. Serves as a mentor and team lead for the staff.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and coordinate unit activities for quality patient care.
  • Evaluate departmental activities to ensure compliance with standards of care.
  • Supervise and mentor staff members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, guests, and coworkers to provide excellent care.
  • Coordinate activities among staff to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ensure adherence to trauma/ED standards of care practices and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Nursing required and 4 years of Staff Nurse experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required and 2 years of Staff Nurse experience in the department is preferred.
  • Active RN licensure required.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required, with ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.

  • Continuous exposure to computer work.
  • Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
  • Some exposure to infectious diseases.
  • Some exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Some exposure to radiation.
