About the role
This position involves developing and maintaining a comprehensive sepsis accreditation program, ensuring adherence to best practices and optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and update standards of care, policies, pathways, protocols, and order sets related to sepsis care.
- Coordinate all sepsis workflows and serve as an expert resource for sepsis management.
- Collaborate with quality management and registry teams to ensure accurate data collection.
- Deliver regular sepsis education to healthcare professionals, patients, families, EMS, and community partners.
- Create and oversee performance improvement plans to enhance patient outcomes.
- Promote a positive image of the program within the hospital and community.
- Monitor sepsis rounding procedures and patient navigation, possibly supervising other nurse navigators.
- Participate in hospital committees and regional/national advisory groups to advance sepsis care practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- 2–5 years of clinical nursing experience in Emergency, Critical Care, or inpatient services.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the relevant jurisdiction.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of sepsis protocols, clinical pathways, and quality improvement strategies.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and educational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including physical mobility and adherence to infection control protocols.
