RN School Based-Full-time/Part-time/PRN-FLOAT-Full-time/Part-time/PRN

Location: Akron/Canton area schools

Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 35 miles to cover schools

About the Role

As a School-Based Permanent Float Nurse with PSI, you support student health across multiple schools while enjoying the consistency of guaranteed hours and a structured school schedule. This role provides nursing coverage across public, private, and charter schools, ensuring clinics are supported when regular nurses are absent or additional coverage is needed.

• Guaranteed 7 hours of pay per day — even if you work less
• Consistent daytime schedule aligned with school hours
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or summer work required (optional summer opportunities available)
• Predictable school-day schedule

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and health support to students in school settings
• Assess student health needs and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Administer medications and monitor student health conditions
• Support communicable disease prevention and school health protocols
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN License (Required)
• Current BLS or CPR/First Aid Certification
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards
• Knowledge of medication administration and communicable disease prevention
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to travel to schools within assigned coverage area (up to 35 miles)

• Pediatric or school health experience preferred but not required
