RN School Based-Full-time/Part-time/PRN-FLOAT-Full-time/Part-time/PRN
Location: Akron/Canton area schools
Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 35 miles to cover schools
About the Role
As a School-Based Permanent Float Nurse with PSI, you support student health across multiple schools while enjoying the consistency of guaranteed hours and a structured school schedule. This role provides nursing coverage across public, private, and charter schools, ensuring clinics are supported when regular nurses are absent or additional coverage is needed.
- Guaranteed 7 hours of pay per day — even if you work less
- Consistent daytime schedule aligned with school hours
- No nights, weekends, holidays, or summer work required (optional summer opportunities available)

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care and health support to students in school settings
- Assess student health needs and implement appropriate nursing interventions
- Administer medications and monitor student health conditions
- Support communicable disease prevention and school health protocols
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines
Requirements
- Active Ohio RN License (Required)
- Current BLS or CPR/First Aid Certification
- Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards
- Knowledge of medication administration and communicable disease prevention
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to travel to schools within assigned coverage area (up to 35 miles)
- Pediatric or school health experience preferred but not required
