About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic's Forensic Nursing team and become part of a compassionate, highly specialized group dedicated to supporting patients during some of life's most challenging moments. As a Forensic Nurse, you'll provide trauma-informed care to pediatric and adult patients. In collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, you'll offer compassionate care, advocacy, and support while helping patients navigate their next steps.

Responsibilities

  • Provide enhanced follow-up services and resources, safety plans are discussed and implemented before the patient is discharged.
  • Perform speculum exams and/or pediatric assessments under the supervision of a LIP.
  • Utilize a thorough knowledge on collecting and managing forensic evidence with a Sexual Assault Exam Collection (SAEC) kit and a Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault kit (DFSA).
  • Interact and collaborate with medical and nursing staff, law enforcement, prosecutors, protective services, advocates, and other agencies as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications: Complete an IAFN approved SANE Adolescent/Adult course within 60 days of hire, Complete an IAFN approved SANE Pediatric course within 1 year of hire, Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross, Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN), 1 year recent RN work experience.
  • Preferred qualifications: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), Trauma, Women’s Health, or Pediatric experience.

Qualifications

  • Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Gloves, Masks, Gowns as needed.

Schedule

A caregiver in this position works full-time | 12:00pm - 9:30pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will be put on call, 3-6 months to get through orientation – must be able to do the training as needed, must be able to have a 7:00pm start time.

Pay

Pay Range Minimum hourly: $33.46 Maximum hourly: $51.03
