About the role

The 12-month, comprehensive Nurse Residency program at Piedmont is designed to facilitate the transition from student to professional nurse. It includes precepted orientation led by dedicated preceptors and blended learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop clinical judgment to recognize changes in patient conditions and the urgency of clinical situations.
  • Cultivate excellent communication skills to engage with colleagues and support patients.
  • Participate in cohort experiences to promote peer and professional socialization and strengthen professional commitment to nursing.
  • Learn didactic content tailored to new graduates from professional nursing organizations.
  • Work in various departments including Acute Care, Critical Care, Emergency Department, Womens Services, Cardiovascular/Progressive Care, Surgical Services, Transplant, and more.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: Graduate of a nursing program.
  • Minimum experience: New graduates of a nursing program.
  • Licenses and certifications: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse and BLS certification required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications: Graduate of a nursing program.
  • Additional qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred, advanced certification in field of specialty if applicable.
