About the role

The University of Washington Medical Center's OPERATING ROOM nurses scrub and circulate for patients undergoing a variety of complex surgical procedures including organ transplantation, cardiac surgery, all varieties of endoscopic procedures, bone and joint allografting, neurosurgery, complex spinal procedures and various oncological procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-, intra-, and post-operative care for surgical patients, a role that includes preparing the surgical site and equipment.
• Assist surgeons during operations by providing instruments and managing patient needs, and monitoring patient recovery.
• Act as a patient advocate, maintain a sterile environment, coordinate with the healthcare team, and provide patient education for recovery.

Requirements

• BLS and minimum of 2 years current general OR nursing experience with circulating in a variety of clinical settings required.
• Scrub experience is desired but not required.

Qualifications

• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Skills

Nurses in this role should be able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care practitioners to provide superior, nursing care.

Pay

Pay Range Minimum: $46.97 hourly
Pay Range Maximum: $86.17 hourly
