Schedule
Full time – 12-hour rotating shifts – 36.00 weekly hours
Pay
Salary range: $32.00 – $48.00 per hour. Sign-On Bonus available for eligible applicants.
Department details
This 44-bed unit (plus an 11-bed overflow unit with telemetry) cares primarily for surgical patients, including general, vascular, plastic, OB-GYN, bariatric, and trauma-related surgery. RNs manage complex needs such as multiple tubes, lines, drains, wound care, and dressing changes. The unit collaborates closely with PACU and ICU as patients transition to 2000, offering a challenging, fast-paced environment that builds critical thinking, time management, and technical nursing skills.
Responsibilities
- Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage and various other nursing interventions
- Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care
- Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up along the continuum of care
- Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required (AACN, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license in the state of practice (or multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state)
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications
