RN - Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit - Mount Carmel Grove City
Position Purpose
The Progressive Care Unit at Mount Carmel Grove City is a 12-bed mixed medical/surgical unit. This unit provides nursing care for patients who are less acutely ill than those requiring intensive care, but more acutely ill than the general medical/surgical unit population. Any patient requiring PCU care can come to this unit giving nurses the chance to care for a wide variety of patients, including surgical, geriatric, oncology, orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiac. The range of patients provides the ability for nurses to develop a broad skill set and to thrive in various situations.
What You Will Do
- Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
- Affirms and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence based practice.
- Collaborates with patient and family to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical, spiritual and educational components.
- Accurately communicates pertinent information to appropriate team members in a timely manner.
- Keeps patient/family apprised/updated.
- Documents accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from school of nursing.
- Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- For Casual RNs 2 years of experience is required.
- All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject to participate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
