About the role

The Infusion Center RN at UC San Diego Health is responsible for assessing, intervening, and evaluating patients receiving therapies in the Infusion Center. This includes giving chemotherapy, biotherapy, clinical trials infusions, and other infusion-related services. The role also involves accessing central lines, ports, and performing venipunctures as needed for lab work.

Responsibilities

• Give chemotherapy, biotherapy, clinical trials infusions, and other infusion-related services.
• Access central lines, ports, and perform venipunctures as needed for lab work.
• Collaborate with physicians, NPs, PAs, Medical Assistants, Registered Dietitians, Patient Services, and Social Work to address patient needs.
• Respond and handle urgent medical emergencies.
• Floated to all Infusion Departments including La Jolla, Encinitas, Vista, and Hillcrest.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Minimum of one (1) year of active oncology RN experience with recent infusion experience.
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with recent experience (in the last (6) six months).
• Strong critical thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient in electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Breast Cancer experience preferred.
• OCN or CBCN certification preferred.
• Clinical Trials Infusion experience preferred.

Skills

• Autonomous nursing care.
• Independent judgment.

Pay

Annual Full Pay Range: $190,342 - $190,342 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $91.16 - $91.16
