RN- Registered Nurse Per Diem- Float Pool

About the Role

Geisinger is seeking an Inpatient Registered Nurse Per Diem for the Central Region Float Pool. This role offers competitive compensation up to $57.75 hourly, with additional premiums including up to $10 float premium on all hours worked and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
• Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care.
• Formulate, coordinate, and provide a plan of care, including patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise the plan of care based on patient response.
• Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs.
• Problem-solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment.
• Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice.
• Actively participate as a team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization, and be accountable for unit and system-specific metrics.
• Participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.

Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.

Requirements

• Must have current and/or recent bedside work experience specifically with float assignments or travel nursing.
• Minimum one year of bedside experience required.
• Ability to work day/night rotation schedule.
• Must rotate between GMC Danville, Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, and Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program (Required).
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (Required).
• Basic Life Support Certification (Required).
• Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania (Required).
