About the role

Penn State Health - St. Joseph Medical Center, located in Reading, PA. Full‑time position (0.90 FTE) on day shift with variable hours. The role involves providing patients medications and fluids via intravenous injection, preparing and mixing solutions, monitoring fluid tubes and injection sites, maintaining arterial catheters, monitoring medication ingestion for proper dosage, avoiding drug complications, and assessing the physical, psychosocial, and learning needs of patients and families. Responsibilities

• Provide patients medications and fluids via intravenous injection.
• Prepare and mix solutions for intake.
• Monitor fluid tubes and injection sites.
• Maintain arterial catheters.
• Monitor medication ingestion for proper dosage and avoid potential drug complications.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, and learning needs of patients and families.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of employment or a multistate RN license through the Interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
• AHA BLS certification to be obtained prior to the end of the orientation period.
