Geisinger is offering a full-time Inpatient RN position with a hiring incentive of up to $23,500 and a $40.55 minimum wage with potential increases for experience. Shift differentials are available for evenings, nights, and weekends. Relocation assistance is also provided.

Job Duties
In accordance with the standards of care established by the State Board of Nursing, the Inpatient RN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse directs and guides patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel. The nurse provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure. The nurse completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards. The nurse addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of the patient and family throughout the continuum of care. The nurse formulates, coordinates, and provides a plan of care as established in unit standards including patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning throughout hospitalization with members of the interdisciplinary team. The nurse evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises the plan of care based upon patient response to interventions. The nurse initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members and takes action to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs. The nurse directs and alters assignments in response to changes in patient situations. The nurse promotes teamwork by delegating tasks to team members based on skill, expertise, time availability, acuity, and needs of the patient. The nurse participates in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice. The nurse actively participates as a team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization and is accountable for unit and system-specific metrics. The nurse supports and participates in initiatives that support the Magnet mission. The nurse actively participates in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.
Position Details
- Hours: 7pm - 7:30am, holidays and weekend rotation up to every other week
- Call may be required
- This unit entails Labor/delivery/recovery, postpartum, operating suite/triage/operative post-recovery
- Obstetrics experience preferred
- Will cross-train to Women's and Children's - training will be provided
Education and Experience
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
Certifications and Licenses
- Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) - RN_State of Pennsylvania
