Job Summary

Geisinger is offering a full-time Inpatient RN position with a hiring incentive of up to $24,000 for eligible candidates. The position offers a base salary of $41.50 per hour with potential increases for experience and additional shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

About the Role

The Inpatient RN assesses, organizes, and performs nursing activities to meet patient needs. They promote patient and family adaptive responses, provide compassionate care, coordinate care, and ensure patient and family education. The role involves direct patient care, medication administration, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities also include addressing physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs, formulating and implementing care plans, evaluating interventions, and resolving patient needs.

Responsibilities

  • Affords assessments and organizes nursing activities to meet patient needs.
  • Promotes adaptive responses and provides compassionate care during patient interactions.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and resolves patient needs.
  • Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
  • Formulates, coordinates, and provides a plan of care, including patient and family education, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
  • Administers treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises the plan of care based on patient response.
  • Collaborates with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to proactively address patient needs.
  • Participates in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice.
  • Works collaboratively with team members to achieve unit and organizational goals and is accountable for unit and system-specific metrics.
  • Participates in patient quality and safety education programs and other initiatives to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have a graduate degree from a Specialty Training Program-Nursing. Certification in Basic Life Support is required. Experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay

$41.50 minimum hiring rate with potential increases for experience and shift differentials.

Schedule

0.9 FTE (36 hours), Nights, Every other weekend/Every other holiday rotation.
