RN Registered Nurse - Acute Care Unit

About the role

Beacon Health System is hiring a part-time night shift Registered Nurse for their inpatient nursing team at Dowagiac Hospital in Dowagiac, MI. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered (one-time payment; not part of yearly salary).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Discharge Planning & Collaboration:
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with physicians, case management, and ancillary departments to support continuity of care.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross certifications accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Prefer 1–2 years previous Medical Surgical/Acute Care experience.
• Preferred ACLS certification.
