RN - Registered Charge Nurse - ICU - Nights

About the role

Every day, our Registered Nurses deliver a level of excellence and compassionate care to our patients in the ICU at Mease Countryside Hospital – Medical/Surgical ICU – Safety Harbor, Florida.

Responsibilities

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team.
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care.
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments. Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition.
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Captures and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge.
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient.
• Professional accountability and development.
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team.
• Develops self and team members and shares organizational information.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice - CCRN, CDN or CNN.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field OR an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion.
• 2-years' RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting.
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association.
