Role: The Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical Float Pool, provides comprehensive nursing care across various medical-surgical units. Responsibilities: Conducts patient assessments, develops and evaluates individualized care plans, administers medications, manages IV fluids, and collaborates with healthcare team members. Ensures patient safety, manages pain, and recognizes changes in condition to take appropriate action. Provides patient and family education, ensures infection control, and documents care accurately. Supports discharge planning and participates in performance improvement initiatives. Qualifications & Skills: Requires an active RN license in Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin, with BLS certification. Critical care experience preferred. Must demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, teamwork, excellent communication, and a patient-centered approach. Maintains knowledge of age-specific care, safety protocols, and infection control standards. Key Duties: Perform assessments, implement evidence-based interventions, document thoroughly, educate patients/families, and contribute to quality improvement. Ensure a safe, respectful, and efficient environment, adhering to hospital policies and standards. Additional requirements include maintaining certifications, participating in ongoing education, and supporting a culture of excellence in nursing practice.
