About the role
The Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical Float Pool provides comprehensive nursing care across various medical-surgical units, assessing, managing, and coordinating patient care during hospitalization.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough assessments, develop and evaluate individualized care plans, administer medications, monitor patient status, and ensure effective communication with the healthcare team
- Provide patient and family education, manage pain, identify abuse signs, and document all care accurately
- Support safety protocols, infection control, and participate in performance improvement initiatives
- Offer specialized care for high-risk patients, uphold professional standards, and foster a collaborative, respectful environment focused on service excellence
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid RN license in the applicable state
- Preferred 2+ years of critical care experience
- Proficiency in patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and documentation
- Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, and commitment to safety and quality care
- BLS certification is mandatory
