About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical Float Pool provides comprehensive nursing care across various medical-surgical units, assessing, managing, and coordinating patient care during hospitalization.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments, develop and evaluate individualized care plans, administer medications, monitor patient status, and ensure effective communication with the healthcare team
• Provide patient and family education, manage pain, identify abuse signs, and document all care accurately
• Support safety protocols, infection control, and participate in performance improvement initiatives
• Offer specialized care for high-risk patients, uphold professional standards, and foster a collaborative, respectful environment focused on service excellence

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid RN license in the applicable state
• Preferred 2+ years of critical care experience
• Proficiency in patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and documentation
• Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, and commitment to safety and quality care
• BLS certification is mandatory

Key Duties

• Conduct assessments, coordinate multidisciplinary care, provide education, manage pain and restraints appropriately, recognize clinical changes, and ensure safety and infection control standards
