RN Pre-Op/PACU - Neuro Expansion

About the role

The Neuro Pre-Op/PACU Unit is a newly established unit in the state-of-the-art Neuro Building at Cleveland Clinic. This unit supports patients through every stage of the surgical experience, combining Pre-Op and Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU) into one cohesive, flexible environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans based on medical needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient conditions and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs, preparing them for home or further treatment.
• Educate patients and their families about their health conditions and post-surgical care.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Skills

Strong critical care competencies, ability to work under stress, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Pay

Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60

Schedule

Shift: 11am to 11:30pm
Call Rotation: 1 24-hour call on a Saturday or Sunday, 2 weeknights (11pm-7am), and 3 lates per 6-week schedule.
