RN Physician Practice

HIGHLIGHTS

Summary: The RN - Physician Practice shall render direct, pre-operative, and intraoperative nursing care to patients under the supervision of the Nurse Managers or other assigned leaders, as well as to serve as a leader of a team engaged in giving nursing care. This individual shall participate in quality improvement, in-services, customer service, and have a clear understanding of the principles of aseptic technique, where applicable. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Membership in AORN encouraged.

LICENSE / CERTIFICATION

• Valid RN license required,
• BLS required,
• CNOR preferred,
• Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc) may be required depending upon department assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Position requires sitting (10%), walking (30%), standing (60%) of the workday.
• Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and twisting.
• Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
• Sometimes lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds and pushing/pulling.
• Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
• Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
• Frequent noise exposure.
• Much exposure to computer work.
• Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
• Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
• Some exposure to hazardous chemicals.
• Occasional exposure to radiation.
• Mechanical and electrical exposure due to equipment, (i.e. phone, copier, fax machine, computer, laser and other intra-operative equipment).
• The potential for exposure to hazardous materials, blood, body fluids, communicable diseases and radiation exists.
• Involves high level of stress.
