Responsibilities

  • Accurately assesses the patient based on their medical condition.
  • Knows and administers ordered medications as prescribed.
  • Provides care appropriate to the patient's condition and age, including basic self-care activities.
  • Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates its effectiveness.
  • Utilizes nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
  • Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient care.
  • Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
  • Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family, and communicates with social services for both hospital and post-discharge needs.
  • Promotes cost-effective practices and non-wasteful usage of supplies, linen, and charge items.
  • Prioritizes patient care effectively and efficiently.
  • Promotes patient safety by reducing the risk of unnecessary harm associated with healthcare.
  • Engages in lifelong learning related to the nursing profession.

Specifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

  • Licensure: RN; BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

  • Specialty Certification: Preferred ACLS/PALS certification.
