About the role
The Perinatal Educator at Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating outpatient educational classes for expecting and new parents. The position involves prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal education, including childbirth preparation, breastfeeding support, newborn care, infant safety, and CPR.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement educational classes for expecting and new parents
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational materials and methods
- Provide prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal education
- Offer childbirth preparation, breastfeeding support, newborn care, infant safety, and CPR
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Certified Childbirth Educator certification or obtain within 6 months of hire
- IBCLC or CLC Certification
- BLS - American Heart Association
- One year of nursing experience in Maternal / Newborn Services preferred
Qualifications
- California Registered Nurse License

Pay
$54.05 - $83.90 per hour
Schedule
Per-Diem position with variable shift hours during days, evenings, and weekends based on patient/community/department needs.
