The Clinical Nurse Educator (RN) - The Perinatal Center position at Bon Secours is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of patients through exceptional patient care. Responsibilities
- Facilitate the coordinated care of the Perinatal patients in the Perinatal Center and in the hospital as in-patients.
- Aid patients in obtaining efficient and comprehensive clinical and supportive care as needed throughout their pregnancy.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Administer medications safely according to the State of Practice and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies and procedures.
- Serve as the point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
- Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
- Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
Requirements
- Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or awaiting reciprocity.
- Maintain current CPR certification.
- Experience within a physician practice setting.
- Working knowledge of medical record format and content of patient records.
- Possesses ability to perform the range of nursing techniques, routine and non-routine.
- Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate in a culturally diverse environment are required.
- Ability to review records, read physician documentation and verify patient identification.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with practice managers and other medical group staff/leadership.
- Able to work under periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads.
- May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
- May have periods of constant interruptions.
Qualifications
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association.
- Valid RN Nursing License from the state of practice.
- Bachelor's of Science, nursing preferred.
- 2 years of Labor and Delivery or Antepartum experience preferred.

Pay
$40.99 - $65.58 per hour
