RN Perianesthesia Surgery Center - 0.5 FTE

About the role

We are seeking a Perianesthesia RN to join our team at Children’s Wisconsin - Surgicenter. The ideal candidate will provide professional nursing care throughout the pre and post-op care continuum, ensuring a safe and positive surgical experience for children and their families.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver professional nursing care throughout the perianesthesia continuum
• Manage patient care needs, including medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and providing emotional support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or a BSN
• A BSN is preferred
• A current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin
• Three years of current post-anesthesia or critical care experience
• Experience in an ambulatory surgery setting is desirable
• Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross
• PALS certifications required within 1 year of employment
• Pediatric experience preferred

Qualifications

• Good eyesight, hearing, emotional stability, physical endurance, and dexterity
• Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours and lift and move up to 40 pounds
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and remain mentally alert
