RN (Per Diem) - Hospice
About the role
This is a per diem/on call position. The RN Nurse Clinician provides holistic care to terminally ill pediatric or adult patients and their families by assessing the needs of the patient, and then planning, coordinating, implementing, and as needed, revising the Plan of Care. The RN Nurse Clinician works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary hospice group (IDG) with the goals of anticipating changes in the patient's condition, avoiding crises, promoting patient and family choice, ensuring continuity of care, and enhancing the quality of life of dying patients.
Responsibilities
- Assess the needs of the patient and develop a Plan of Care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice group to achieve patient and family goals
- Work with the patient and family to promote choice and enhance quality of life
- Avoid crises and prevent deterioration in the patient's condition
- Ensure continuity of care for the patient and family
Requirements
- Associate's Degree Nursing OR Bachelor's Degree Nursing OR equivalent education/experience
- Washington Registered Nurse License within 30 days of hire
- Provider BLS - American Heart Association
Qualifications
- 1 year Nursing experience; some pediatric nursing experience required for a position in the Pediatric Programs
- Prior Hospice, Homecare, Long Term Care, medical/surgical, and/or oncology experience
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong assessment and planning skills
- Knowledge of hospice care principles and practices

Pay
The base pay range for this position is $39.67 - $61.58. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
Shift, schedule and caseload of shifts and caseload may vary according to position assignment.
