About the role
Willis Knighton Pierremont (WKP) is a Joint Commission‑approved Primary Stroke Center. The Stroke Unit consists of 12 beds for stroke patients requiring intermediate care. Nurses on this unit provide acute neurological assessments, hemodynamic drip titrations, and other invasive monitoring skills. The role demands critical thinking, accurate assessment abilities, and exceptional communication with providers. The nurse‑to‑patient ratio is 1:3, allowing close collaboration with the interdisciplinary health‑care delivery team, patients, and families to create coordinated care plans.
