Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Nursing Director or Supervisor, deliver quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Direct all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice and federal, state, and local regulations.
• Incorporate knowledge of patient’s age-specific development and cultural values into the plan of care.
• Contribute to quality nursing care through process improvement techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration that demonstrates positive outcomes in the delivery of patient care.

Schedule

Full-time, night shift (7 p.m.–7 a.m.) on a state-of-the-art 6-bed Pediatric/PICU unit. This is a swing bed unit that cares for general pediatric patients as well as PICU-level patients. Common PICU patients include respiratory-driven cases (asthma exacerbation, pneumonia), with volume largely from the Pediatric ER, general pediatric surgery, and pediatric GI.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Active South Carolina or compact-state nursing license.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Prior pediatric nursing experience is required.
