RN-Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab and EP Lab

About the role

Join the #1 hospital in Wisconsin! We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work onsite in both our Peds Cath Lab at AFCH and Adult EP Lab at University Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Be an integral member of a talented multidisciplinary team working together to deliver quality care to pediatric patients, from neonatal to young adulthood, undergoing cardiovascular procedures and diagnostic cardiac catheterization in our hybrid cath lab at American Family Children’s Hospital (AFCH).
• Work in our main cardiac EP lab at University Hospital caring for a wide range of patients from young adult to geriatric.
• Practice in an environment that focuses on patient and family centered care.
• Achieve new skills and integrate evidence-based nursing practices into the unit culture.
• Engage in shared governance, with a unit-based council, to support and drive quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit
• Preferred: Inpatient Units and Central Float (Adult & Pediatric), Radiology, Hemodialysis, Cardiovascular Laboratory
• Two (2) years of nursing experience
• Relevant RN Experience

Qualifications

• Preferred: Pediatric experience and inpatient ICU level nursing experience or prior cath lab nursing experience
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact
• Current CPR/BLS Certification
• Required ACLS within 6 months
• Required PALS within 6 months
• Preferred: Relevant Certification

Pay

Competitive starting pay; relevant work experience will be considered. Hours may vary depending on department need.

Schedule

Operational hours of the Cath Lab/EP lab are 6:00am to 7:00pm. Required on-call responsibilities for off hours will include weekends and holidays with a 60-minute response time.
