The RN Patient Safety Coordinator at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital plays a crucial role in managing risk data, claims, and compliance, while also overseeing patient safety education initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Risk/CMS data management
- Claims management
- Facility’s risk management program education components
- Establishing, coordinating, and managing Patient Safety education initiatives
- Collaborating with all facility leadership and committees
- Assisting with clinical risk assessments and analysis
- Assisting with the annual evaluation of the Risk Management Program
- Assisting with incident analysis and response
- Investigating incidents leading to professional or general liability claims
- Coordinating tracking and trending of occurrence reports
- Developing/implementing policies and procedures for the Risk Management Program
- Producing thorough, accurate, well-designed, and appropriate documents
- Other functions as assigned
Requirements
- RN Diploma required
- Bachelor’s Degree or significant experience preferred
- 2 years related clinical and/or risk management/patient safety experience required
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification to be achieved within 1 year of hire
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical or risk management/patient safety experience
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
- Active CPPS or CPHQ certification within 1 year of hire
