Job Summary and Qualifications
The Patient Safety Coordinator contributes to high quality, patient-centered care by coordinating the facility-wide Patient Safety Program, working towards the goal of eliminating avoidable harm. In collaboration with the Patient Safety Committee, the Patient Safety Coordinator organizes and operationalizes process improvement initiatives at unit, service line, or facility level. The Patient Safety Coordinator uses clinical expertise to identify and evaluate activities or events which present opportunities to improve the safe provision of services within the facility.
Qualifications
- Required Education: Bachelors Degree
- Preferred Education: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Science or Advanced Degree in Healthcare Related Field
- Preferred Experience: 3+ years clinical experience or 3+ years experience in acute care nursing; Experience in Quality/Patient Safety/Risk
- Preferred License/Certification(s): Relevant clinical licensure Certification in Patient Safety
