Job Description
The Registered Nurse at Singing River Health System is responsible for providing patient care utilizing the Nursing Process. They must hold a current unrestricted Mississippi State license as a Registered Nurse and have completed and maintained BCLS certification upon hire. Additional certifications are required for specific specialties, and RNs must acquire these certifications within 12 and 18 months of starting in those areas. De-escalation training must be completed by the end of position orientation.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an NLN School of Nursing
- Current unrestricted Mississippi State licensure as a Registered Nurse
- BCLS certification upon hire
- Appropriate certifications for specific specialties (Cath Lab - ACLS, Cardiac Rehab - ACLS, etc.)
- De-escalation training completed by 90 days
- A minimum of one (1) year of inpatient clinical experience, preferred
Experience
A minimum of one (1) year of inpatient clinical experience, preferred. Experience must be within the past five (5) years, or evidence of successful refresher program.

Reports to Patient Care Manager

- LPNs
- Patient Care Assistants
- Unit Technicians
Physical Demands
- Moderately active: involves sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area.
- Exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard.
- Close visual and acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision.
- Active for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue.
- Work schedule may change according to the needs of the hospital for off days, shifts or weekends.

- Possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.
- Possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.
- Possess superior clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages.
