RN-Outpatient Observation

About the role

This position is a 0.7 FTE (56 hours per 2-week pay period) on day shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), working 8-hour shifts with an every-other-weekend rotation. The Registered Nurse on the Observation team will provide care for adult patients requiring outpatient services, similar to an Emergency Department setting. Responsibilities include delivering excellent patient care for individuals from same-day surgery and transfers from all units, offering a variety of experiences.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patient populations.
• Perform duties in accordance with all policies, procedures, professional practice guidelines, and the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act.
• Coordinate care with members of the healthcare team and delegate responsibilities as appropriate.

Requirements

• Active Minnesota RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Directive (AD) certification

Qualifications

• BSN or higher degree preferred
• Certification in a related specialty is helpful
• One year of current medical/surgical RN experience in a hospital setting is desired
