Purpose of Position
Captures total nursing care for patients in the specified setting. Participates in patient and family teaching, pre, intra and post procedure care. Demonstrates leadership by collaborating with all patient care team personnel.
Responsibilities
- Practices according to entity and department requirements and best practice standards.
- Engages in ongoing Performance Improvement programs.
- Utilizes the nursing process with an interdisciplinary approach.
- Provides patient and family teaching, initiates discharge planning at admission.
- Affirms patients' health through continuous assessment and documentation.
- Safely administers medications, including moderate sedation, and manages pain.
- Utilizes chemical and physical restraints as per policy.
- Identifies and reports signs of neglect/abuse.
- Carefully attends to terminally ill patients and families, respecting advance directives.
- Addresses age-specific patient needs.
- Performs cardiovascular assessments.
- Assesses physical, mental, and psychosocial patient statuses.
- Supports physicians during minor/local surgical procedures and gastroenterology procedures.
- Prepares and follows up on post-procedure patients.
- Maintains necessary licenses, certifications, and registrations.
- Uses computerized nursing informatics effectively.
- Ensures service excellence to all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Read, write, and communicate in English.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- BLS certification.
- Passes FH's pharmacology exam.
- Passes Basic Arrhythmia Program or challenge exam.
- ACLS certification within three months.
- Moderate Sedation certification within three months.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of current (within the last 5 years) Endoscopy experience.
Qualifications
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- BLS certification.
- Successful completion of FH's pharmacology exam.
- Completion of Basic Arrhythmia Program or passing challenge exam.
- ACLS certification within three months.
- Moderate Sedation certification within three months.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of current Endoscopy experience.
