Role Overview
The RN Team Leader collaborates with clinicians to develop a high-performing, self-directed team, ensuring delivery of high-quality, timely healthcare aligned with organizational values. They demonstrate leadership in clinical practice, team building, and workflow management, including staffing, referrals, and access.
Responsibilities
- Participating in hiring, training, and evaluating team members
- Mentoring staff and fostering professional development
- Facilitating effective communication within the team and with other departments
- Handling emergency situations
- Advocating for patients, staff, and clinicians
- Upholding ethical standards, ensuring compliance with confidentiality, HIPAA, and legal policies
- Maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff
- Applying clinical expertise and population health understanding
- Using proficiency with practice management systems
- Supporting organizational initiatives and demonstrating leadership aligned with labor-management principles
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience in acute or ambulatory care within the last five years
- Experience in scrubbing and circulating for Specialty procedures
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- RN licensure
- BLS certification
- Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
- Willingness to learn computerized systems
- Commitment to patient-centered care
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous mentoring or coaching experience
- Current or future bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
