Full-time Weekend Night shift Operating Room Nurse position. Shift is 7pm-7am Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with no call requirement and an enhanced weekend shift differential.
About the Role
- Training provided in 13 different specialties: robotics, ortho, spine, neuro, cardiovascular, general/bariatrics, gynecology, plastics, surgical oncology, urology, ENT, and transplant.
- Additional specialized training for neuro and cardiac teams.
- Variety of procedures including open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgeries across multiple service lines.
- Laser and microscope procedures performed.
- Facility includes 33 operating rooms, 3 hybrid rooms for neurovascular and vascular procedures, 4 DaVinci robots, 2 Mako robots, and 1 Ion robot.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration among nursing staff, surgeons, residents, and anesthesia providers.

Responsibilities
- Clinical Judgment: Conduct accurate clinical assessments, identify and prioritize patient and family needs, develop and implement nursing plans of care, and evaluate patient responses.
- Clinical Inquiry: Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, support evidence-based practice changes, and participate in quality/performance improvement initiatives.
- Caring Practices: Create a compassionate, safe, and therapeutic environment; develop therapeutic relationships; and manage emotional and physical pain to promote comfort and healing.
- Response to Diversity: Incorporate patients' unique differences (culture, spiritual beliefs, gender, race, lifestyle, etc.) into individualized care plans.
- Advocacy and Moral Agency: Preserve patient confidentiality, autonomy, and dignity; represent patient concerns; and help resolve ethical and clinical issues.
- Facilitation of Learning: Educate patients, families, nursing staff, and healthcare team members; assess and document learning needs and outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues and community to develop integrated care plans; delegate tasks appropriately and ensure follow-up.
- Systems Thinking: Use problem-solving strategies and available resources to deliver safe, effective, and efficient patient care.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room Nurse experience.
- Knowledge of nursing and patient care standards, medical terminology, health promotion, and risk reduction practices.
- Understanding of laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to nursing care.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with diverse constituencies.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to observe and communicate changes in patient condition to healthcare team.
- General computer skills, including Microsoft Office, electronic medical documentation, and scheduling systems.
