RN or LPN - Cardiology Clinic

Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Assists the physician in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork. Integrates Mercy’s philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respecting human life and dignity, and applying Christian values to all responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional nursing care to patients under physician direction.
  • Assist physicians in patient treatment and complete related clinical paperwork.
  • Communicate with patients, families, visitors, and staff in a caring, friendly, professional manner.
  • Perform medical treatments and procedures as required.
  • Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and policies.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and the public.
  • Access information and enter clinical data using basic computer and keyboard skills.
  • Operate clinic equipment related to the specialty.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current valid state nursing license.
  • CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of nursing principles, care procedures, medications, patient education, and safety practices.
  • Ability to react calmly in emergencies and communicate clearly.
  • Basic computer skills or ability to learn.
