Responsibilities
- Affirms the mission of Northern Arizona Healthcare by coordinating care for patients and their families.
- Delivers care by following the nursing process (assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating).
- Provides leadership to ancillary personnel through roles such as team leader, preceptor, and active team member.
- Practices within the ANA Scope of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics, and specialty-specific standards.
- Assesses patient needs and conditions, identifies outcomes, and develops individualized care plans.
- Evaluates patient progress and updates care plans as needed.
- Maintains a sterile field during care procedures and adheres to infection control standards.
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Assists with procedures and transports patients as directed by hospital and departmental policies.
Qualifications
- Holds an active, unrestricted Arizona RN license or a valid, participating compact license.
- Has completed a BSN program within 6 years of hiring into an RN position, or is encouraged to pursue a BSN if hired before July 1, 2016.
- Is certified in BLS, ACLS, and CNOR (preferred), and holds PALS certification (preferred).
- Obtains and maintains appropriate clinical competencies for assigned roles.
- Uses computers and electronic devices to support patient care and adhere to organizational standards.
