About the Role

Provides professional nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards and practices, supporting the Hospital's core mission with a high quality of care.

Responsibilities

  • Collects data in a systematic and ongoing process.
  • Identifies issues and develops diagnoses based on assessment data.
  • Prioritizes data collection based on the patient's condition and needs.
  • Identifies expected outcomes and develops an individualized plan with strategies that address diagnoses.
  • Provides for continuity through a plan that directs other members of the team.
  • Implements the plan in a safe and timely manner; documents implementation and any changes or omissions.
  • Consults with healthcare providers and makes referrals as appropriate.
  • Utilizes appropriate community resources and systems to implement the plan.
  • Documents and submits required information and data in a timely, clear, and accurate manner, tailored to expected readers/users.
  • Develops expected outcomes that provide direction for continuity of care, involving patient/family and other disciplines.
  • Modifies expected outcomes based on changes in the assessment of the patient.
  • Includes the patient and others involved in the care in the evaluation process.
  • Evaluates the plan in relation to patient responses and expected outcomes; documents the results.
  • Uses the results of quality improvement activities in nursing practice.
  • Uses creativity and innovation in nursing practice to improve care delivery.
  • Incorporates evidence-based knowledge to initiate change in nursing practice.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities.
  • Accountable for individual practice and delegation to provide optimum care.
  • Practices with compassion and respect; advocates for the patient, family, and community.
  • Assures patient safety through competency and growth of self and others.
  • Contributes to a healthy work environment through shared decision-making.
  • Collaborates with other health professionals to meet healthcare needs.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from a state-accredited School of Professional Nursing (required).
  • Master’s degree from a state-accredited School of Professional Nursing (preferred).
  • 3 or more years of Cardiovascular/Thoracic Nursing experience (required).

Qualifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse, current GA License (required upon hire).
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required upon hire).
  • Crisis Response Training - Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) (required within 180 days of hire).
