About the Role
Provides professional nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards and practices, supporting the Hospital's core mission with a high quality of care.
Responsibilities
- Collects data in a systematic and ongoing process.
- Identifies issues and develops diagnoses based on assessment data.
- Prioritizes data collection based on the patient's condition and needs.
- Identifies expected outcomes and develops an individualized plan with strategies that address diagnoses.
- Provides for continuity through a plan that directs other members of the team.
- Implements the plan in a safe and timely manner; documents implementation and any changes or omissions.
- Consults with healthcare providers and makes referrals as appropriate.
- Utilizes appropriate community resources and systems to implement the plan.
- Documents and submits required information and data in a timely, clear, and accurate manner, tailored to expected readers/users.
- Develops expected outcomes that provide direction for continuity of care, involving patient/family and other disciplines.
- Modifies expected outcomes based on changes in the assessment of the patient.
- Includes the patient and others involved in the care in the evaluation process.
- Evaluates the plan in relation to patient responses and expected outcomes; documents the results.
- Uses the results of quality improvement activities in nursing practice.
- Uses creativity and innovation in nursing practice to improve care delivery.
- Incorporates evidence-based knowledge to initiate change in nursing practice.
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
- Accountable for individual practice and delegation to provide optimum care.
- Practices with compassion and respect; advocates for the patient, family, and community.
- Assures patient safety through competency and growth of self and others.
- Contributes to a healthy work environment through shared decision-making.
- Collaborates with other health professionals to meet healthcare needs.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree from a state-accredited School of Professional Nursing (required).
- Master’s degree from a state-accredited School of Professional Nursing (preferred).
- 3 or more years of Cardiovascular/Thoracic Nursing experience (required).
Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse, current GA License (required upon hire).
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required upon hire).
- Crisis Response Training - Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) (required within 180 days of hire).
