Responsibilities
- Affirms the mission of Northern Arizona Healthcare by coordinating care for patients and their families.
- Directly cares for patients, educates them, and plans for their discharge.
- Follows the nursing process (assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, evaluating) to deliver care.
- Leads and mentors ancillary personnel, participates in team meetings, and serves as a preceptor.
- Adheres to the ANA Scope of Practice, Code of Ethics, and specialty standards.
- Assesses patient needs and conditions, identifies outcomes, and develops individualized care plans.
- Evaluates patient progress and updates care plans as needed.
- Maintains a sterile field during care procedures and follows infection control protocols.
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Assists with procedures and transports patients as directed by hospital and departmental policies.
Qualifications
- Holds an active, unrestricted Arizona RN license or a valid, participating compact license.
- Has completed a BSN program within 6 years of hiring into an RN position, or is encouraged to pursue one if hired before July 1, 2016.
- Is certified in BLS, ACLS, and CNOR (if applicable).
- Complies with regulatory and organizational standards, adheres to hospital and departmental policies, and maintains compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Completes all required training and documentation as outlined by the organization.
- Reports safety-related incidents promptly and participates in safety training programs.
- Works safely and monitors work environments for potential hazards.
