About the role
We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members; assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibiting sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity; and maintaining involvement in activities aimed at achieving unit and departmental strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Achieves learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient needs.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Evaluates data, information, and knowledge to promote change and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy, explaining services, and communicating effectively.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Work Experience Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Certifications Required: Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred: Certification in Clinical Specialty Area.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to various individuals throughout the patient care process.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Skills
- Knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility.
- Ability to remain knowledgeable on compliance-related concerns and ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations, and standards.
