RN Occupational Employee Health Coordinator

This is a Full Time Day shift position, Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts. Hours will vary between 7:00am-5:00pm — flexibility is required.

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator in Occupational and Employee Health coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care by supporting the comprehensive Occupational and Employee Health Program(s). This role promotes employee wellness, maintains productivity, decreases absenteeism, and supports cost containment. The RN assists with clinical functions, including pre-employment processing, occupational health testing, and surveillance.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in all aspects of the Occupational and Employee Health & Safety Program(s).
  • Provides quality care to employees in accordance with corporate/hospital policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Performs pre-employment screenings, annual health screenings and tests, and immunizations.
  • Serves as the initial source of medical evaluation and reporting for employee work-related illnesses and injuries; assigns employees to the appropriate level of care.
  • Provides consultation and first aid; schedules therapy, rehabilitation, and/or work restrictions as needed.
  • Serves as case manager for work-related exposure, injury, or illness; evaluates and investigates all incidents, coordinates medical interventions and work absence/light duty assignments, and conducts follow-up to determine resolution.
  • Promotes an interdisciplinary approach for identifying, tracking, and resolving employee health issues.
  • Maintains logs, periodic reports, employee files, and databases.
  • Provides employee health education on wellness initiatives, safe work practices, and occupational health programs.
  • Advances unparalleled patient service through consistent, positive patient interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
  • Current Texas RN license or active compact license
  • BLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • 2+ years of nursing experience
