RN - OAKMH Med Surg - PRN
About the role
We are seeking a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. This role involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members; assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibiting sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity; and maintaining involvement in activities aimed at achieving unit and departmental strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Achieves learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patient, family, and other group or discipline needs.
- Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanations of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions, and communication style.
Requirements
This job requires a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred. No prior work experience is required. Necessary certifications include a current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice and a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Certification in a clinical specialty area is preferred.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Salary is determined based on a variety of factors, including market rates, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule
Our schedule varies based on the needs of the hospital and the individual's availability. Shifts may vary from day, evening, and night shifts, and weekends may be required. Please review the job description for more details.
