About the role

Elderwood is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nursing Supervisor (RN) to help lead clinical operations and support our nursing teams within our skilled nursing and rehabilitation community. This leadership role oversees nursing care delivery during the assigned shift, supports nursing staff across units, responds to clinical and operational needs, and ensures exceptional resident care and service excellence.

This role plays a critical part in maintaining clinical excellence, supporting staff performance, and ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, high-quality care. You will serve as a clinical resource and leader for nursing teams, assist with staffing coordination, problem-solving, and resident care oversight, and partner closely with Unit Managers, DON leadership, providers, and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

  • Supervise nursing care services and nursing personnel across assigned units
  • Conduct rounds and provide clinical support and guidance to staff
  • Monitor resident conditions and ensure timely communication of changes
  • Assist with admissions, evaluations, care planning, and resident oversight
  • Support safe medication administration and treatment delivery

Staff Support & Operations

  • Assist with staffing coordination and assignment adjustments
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and support to nursing staff
  • Ensure documentation, workflows, and assignments are completed appropriately
  • Participate in shift-to-shift communication and operational updates
  • Promote a collaborative, respectful, team-focused environment

Quality & Compliance

  • Help maintain compliance with facility policies, CMS standards, and nursing regulations
  • Support infection prevention and facility safety initiatives
  • Assist with incident response, emergency procedures, and survey readiness
  • Participate in QAPI and performance improvement efforts

Requirements

  • Possession of a state license in applicable state and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience and at least one (1) year of experience in a nursing leadership role
  • Interest or experience in geriatrics
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Experience with dementia population desirable

This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. The employee must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
